April 8th, 2012 – Updated for version 3.00 of the install script
Although the ActiveSpeak PiaF Install script for CentOS 6.x will handle the heavy lifting to install PBX in a Flash on your clean CentOS 6.x install, there are a few steps you may or may not need to take before using the script.

Assuming you have just completed a fresh install or re-image we need to get the system ready to launch the setup script.

1. (optional). Change your random default password to something you can remember.

passwd

2. Make sure nano, or your favourite editor is installed.

yum -y install nano

3. Edit your hostname.

nano /etc/sysconfig/network
nano /etc/hosts

4. (Optional – 64 bit only) Clean up your packages.

yum -y erase *.i386 *.i686

5. Make sure everything is up to date.

yum -y upgrade

6. Reboot (your kernel was most likely updated)

You are now ready to begin the process of making your system look like a clean install of PBX in a Flash.

wget http://www.activespeak.com/piaf/install-piaf-v3.00.sh
chmod 755 install-piaf-v3.00.sh
./install-piaf-v3.00.sh

The script will perform the install without any input. Be aware that the script will not work on Open-VZ or custom kernels (such as Linode). If the script errors out, please read the error message carefully, it will explain why the script will not work on your system. Also Be aware that your system will be marked as “Unsupported” by the PBX in a Flash installer.

Once the script is completed and has rebooted your system you are ready to perform a normal PBX in a Flash install.

Choose your PiaF flavour. If you plan on installing the Incredible PBX, make sure you select Purple or Red.

If you plan on installing the Incredible PBX, now is the time to run the installer.

In either case, once you have completed installing the Incredible PBX, or if you just want a vanilla PBX in a Flash install, make sure you finish your installation by running the master password reset script. This is required to remove the commonly known default passwords for various components of PBX in a Flash and the Incredible PBX.

At this point you are ready to start configuring your new VOIP PBX. For instructions there are many great articles available at Nerd Vittles as well as in the PiaF Forums. Another great resource is PBX in a Flash for Newbies.
